When I get that feeling, I wanna ‘Chemical Peeling’...

Okay, so you’ve heard of chemical peels but all you can think of is the Sex In The City

episode where Samantha has a bright red face? I hear this a lot but very superficial and superficial peels, such as those provided at Alpha Aesthetics, should not be painful!

I’m going to tell you why you need them in your skincare repertoire and why I love them!

So, lets get the science out of the way first. Chemical peels work by exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells and stimulates growth of new cells, resulting in a healthy glow, improved skin tone, a reduction in age spots and a perfect smooth base for your cosmetic products. At Alpha Aesthetics this is done by using using PCA Skin protocols which are alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) such as lactic and mandelic acid and retinol, which have excellent safety profiles and clinically proven benefits. Remember, even Cleopatra bathed in sour milk (using the active ingredient lactic acid) to improve her skin.

Chemical peels are quick, non-invasive, tailored to your budget but best of all, can be bespoke to your skin concerns! Open pores? Age spots? Dull skin? Breakouts? No problem! Almost every body is suitable for a chemical peel and they work fantastically in combination with your medical grade home skincare regime.

Are you still worried about getting one? Okay. After you have a chemical peel your skin can feel tighter for a few days and a little more sensitive or pink immediately after but our peels should not be painful! You can experience dry skin with areas of peeling but not everyone will experience this and the downtime will be variable on the chemical peel you have.

Chemical peels has drastically improved my own skin and so far 2020 has meant most of my days have been spent make-up free. My skin is softer, noticeably less dull with fewer breakouts.

If you still have concerns or any questions get in touch. There is a peel for everyone.
